First Play Date

Presley and I joined the "Avery Ranch Babies Playgroup" last week. We meet every Wednesday at 10am for a play date. Our neighborhood has so many great groups for stay home moms. The other babies in our playgroup range in age from 10 months to 18 months. Presley is the youngest, but only by two weeks. All the other babies are so cute, and there is about an even number of girls and boys. I'm so excited about that because so far, all of Presley's friends have been boys (ok...so it's just her cousin Logan at this point), but I love the idea of having other little girls for her to play with.

The first play date we went to was at Brushy Creek Park. We all met at the sandbox and let the kids play together. I was a little worried because 1. Presley had never been in sand before, 2. she had never actually "played" with lots of other babies before, and 3. the play date started at the same time she usually goes down for her morning nap. But she did so great. She LOVED the sand! I spent the majority of my time trying to stop her sandy little hand from going into her mouth. She also played really well with the other babies, but was mostly happy to just play with the toys in the sandbox. I was so proud of my big girl!
One of the other moms took some pictures and sent me the ones of Pres. Enjoy!

Pres playing a rake in the sandbox. She played with this for about 10 minutes.

This was such a fun day. I can't wait to do it every week.

Spaghetti

We gave Pres Spaghetti for the first time last night. We weren't sure how she was going to react, but to our surprise, she LOVED it! Yea! Now there is at least one meal I can make for all three of us for dinner. Actually, it wasn't really spaghetti because I used a egg noodles that I boiled for a really long time and then cut into pieces to make it softer and easier for her to "chew". But it's basically the same thing. Next time, I will just use the regular spaghetti noodles that Blaine and I ate. We don't normally eat spaghetti that often, but I think we might be having this once a week now.

This was her entire meal: squash and carrots, formula, peas, "spaghetti", and applesauce.

First Bite!

Do we like it?

Yep, we like it! Ready for bite #2!

Okay, so after she finished the spaghetti, she got to eat her peas (her favorite). I just love this picture of her chasing the last pea on her tray. She normally eats them two or three at a time!

Camping with our Best Friends

This weekend we took Presley on her first "vacation". Last year, we met the Edwards, Newmans, and Visoskys in San Antonio for a weekend of camping at the KOA in San Antonio. We had so much fun! So when Lisha told me they were going again this year, we definitely knew we wanted to go. We were a little worried how Pres would do since she is on such a tight schedule. Her bottle time, nap time, bath time, and bed time have not varied more than 30 minutes in the past 6 months. She didn't love being off schedule, but she did way better than I thought she would do.

As it turns out, that would not be our biggest obstacle. Our poor sweet baby is more of a hotel and air conditioning kind of girl because she broke out into a huge heat rash that lasted all weekend. Thank goodness Dr. Molly was there to tell us that all we needed was a little Hydrocortisone cream. But despite everything, she hung in like a trooper and I was so proud her her. Looks like all of our family vacations, in the future, will be skiing in the winter. We had so much fun this weekend and can't wait to do it again! Enjoy some of the pics below from our fun weekend with friends.

The couple that owned the R.V. behind us in this picture, were clowns! "Spangle and Daisey Mae" were two clowns that were working at a local pizza restaurant near by for the week. They would come out all dressed up and make balloon animals for the kids. The best part was that they drove a little smart car as their clown car. Too funny!

Saturday morning was one of the best parts of the whole weekend. We woke up (after Presley slept a couple of ours in our bed...so wonderful and only the second time she had done it) and made coffee and breakfast. We cut up some blueberry muffin and banana for Presley and she sat in her Bumbo and ate it while she watched Winnie the Poo. I also love the bottle of Makers in the background...it goes nicely with the next picture :)

I so wish this picture was more in focus because it is PRICELESS!!! Not sure who is worse...me, for not noticing while taking the picture, or Blaine for not realizing what she's doing. Either way, our 1o month old daughter drinking Daddy's Makers and coke will not win either of us the "Parent of the Year" award anytime soon!

Bed Head

So, I went to go wake Pres up from her morning nap today and found out that my previously (very bald) daughter now has severe bed head. When she was born, she had maybe 10 hairs on her whole head. I guess I hadn't noticed how quickly her hair was actually growing until it started getting long enough to be messy.

But I have to say, that even with the messy hair, she is still so darn cute!!! Enjoy the pictures below...they're...um...special :)

This one is my favorite, I just love that face!

Just A Swingin'

We got a brand new addition to our back patio this weekend...a little swing for Presley! It's a little Fisher Price swing that we hung from our back patio and Presley absolutely loves it. I was a little worried that she would be really scared to be in it (it's pretty far off the ground), but she lit up with a huge smile the second we started to push her in it. She had so much fun and it was just so sweet to see her great big smile as she swung back and forth. She could have probably stayed in that thing all day long!

Everyone knows that Presley is on a very strict schedule (okay, that might be a bit of an understatement). It was getting dangerously close to nap time and she was still in the swing. I nervously awaited the dreaded nap time meltdown, but she kept on swinging and smiling. There's a little yellow tray on the swing and every now and then she would lay her head on the tray for about 5 seconds, then pop right back up and start smiling again. We are going to try to start making this a part of our daily routine!

I just love that face!
