10 Months

Thanksgiving 2012

Blaine and I love to host the holidays for our family.  This year, we were so lucky to have our friends and family with us to celebrate Thanksgiving at our house.

This picture makes me so happy!  Everyone I love eating a dinner I loving prepared for them.  I wish my table was this full everyday of the year!!!

This is the fist year we had a "kids table".  Presley, Aiden, and Logan had so much fun eating their dinner and talking/playing.

This was sweet little Collyn's first Thanksgiving.  She was asleep for most of it, but we managed to get at least one shot with her eyes open.

Guess who else was celebrating their very first Thanksgiving...Mr. Becks!!!  That right, our little man was ready for some turkey!

He did such a great job and loved eating turkey, potatoes, dressing, sweet potato, and rolls!  He sure had a big boy appetite that night!

Speaking of big appetite, Presley ate all her dinner and got a yummy plate of Mommy's homemade pecan pie and Mimi's homemade pumpkin cake and whipped cream.

After dinner, I surprised Presley and had her room all decorated for Christmas.  She had new Christmas bedding, Christmas pictures frames/decorations, brand new Christmas pajamas, and of course her pink Christmas tree.

She got to decorate her Christmas tree before going to bed.

This was such a great Thanksgiving!
Happy Holidays!!!

It won't be much longer...

Hey Everyone!  Just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about the blog.  Blaine had to rebuild our computer and we're having some difficulties getting our pictures to go from the camera, to the computer, to the blog.  I'll post all of our November and December updates as soon as we get this fixed.  Sorry for the delay.

Trick-or-Treat!

We had such a great Halloween!  It was Beckett's first Halloween and we were so excited to take both the kids trick-or-treating this year.
Beckett was a monkey and Presley was a good little witch.

Is he not the cutest little monkey you have ever seen?

And of course Presely was just precious in her little witch costume!  She loved the hat and broom!!!

Sweet little Becks did a great job riding around the neighborhood in the wagon.

 Presley and her friend, Jenni-Claire.

She did such a great job trick-or-treating.  I thought she might be a little bit scared but she walked right up to every door all by herself.

Beckett so cute in his little "1st Halloween" jammies!
Happy Halloween!

Presley's Halloween Parade

On Halloween morning, Presley's school had a Halloween parade.  All the parents gathered on the playground as the students marched around in their costumes. It was so cute and Pres looked adorable!  She wanted to be a princess at school, so she went as Cinderella.

Enjoy the pics of the parade below!

Pumpkin Carving

The day before Halloween, Blaine had to go out of town for the night.  When he's away time seems to creep by at a snail's pace.  We had taken family pictures that morning before he left and as a result, Pres missed her gymnastics class.  I was trying to figure out what we could do when it hit me...tomorrow is Halloween!  Let's carve the pumpkin!

I drew the face.  Presley decided that the pumpkin needed some hair, so she took care of that part.

I carefully cut the top off the pumpkin and called Pres over to look inside.

That was a mistake.  She took one look at the string and seeds that filled the inside and immediately ran away.  She kept saying "I don't want a pumpkin anymore!".

Okay, so pumpkin carving was not her thing.  I quickly had to change gears and figure out what part of this she would like.  After a minute or two I finally came up with the perfect pumpkin activity for Presley...roasting pumpkin seeds.  She loves to cook so I knew this would be right up her alley.

A little butter.

A few sprinkles of cinnamon.

A dash of allspice.

Some sugar.

And a few grates of nutmeg.

Into the oven they went for 1 hour.

I finished the jack-o-lantern alone.  Pres liked it when it was all finished, especially when it was all lit up!

She was so excited when it was time to try the pumpkin seeds.

She loved them!
I may not have a carving partner, but at least I have a little cooking buddy.
