One of the moms at playgroup took this picture of Presley. She looks like a little China doll. I love it!

Christmas Morning

Looks like Presley made it on Santa's "Good List" this year! When our sweet little angel woke up on Christmas morning she had a big surprise from St. Nick. It's an All Star Sports Climber with Slide.

The best Christmas gift I could ever get was Presley's face when she walked out and saw her new present under the tree. She knew exactly what to do. She walked right over (not even noticing her stocking and other side toys), climbed up the slide and slid right down.

This is the first of about 50 times that she played on her slide on Christmas Day.

She finally got around to noticing her stocking.

A little help from Mommy...so many fun toys inside!

Pres enjoys a little alone time with one her favorite presents...new star stickers!

Showing Mimi one of her new books...

...and showing Baba some new stickers.

For Christmas morning breakfast, I made homemade cinnamon rolls...from scratch! I got the recipe from the Pioneer Woman website and all I have to say is OMG!!! These were the best cinnamon rolls I have ever tasted. They will definitely be a Christmas morning tradition from now on.

A sweet little moment with all three of us together before a very sleepy Presley goes down for a nap.

While Pres was napping it was time for mimosas and all the adults to start opening their gifts.

Presley's first presents to Mimi and Grammie Ya-Ya!

Toys, Toys, EVERYWHERE!!!

Some quiet time with Ya-Ya to read a book.

Presley helping Mommy make Christmas dinner: Beef stew and homemade bread. On a funny side note, Presley is in love with the bread machine. Anytime we make bread, she want to spend the whole 3 hours watching it.

A little alone time with her new toys.

After a very big day, it was finally over and time for an exhausted little girl to go to bed and dream about all the fun she had. This was a perfect Christmas with our sweet little Princess. I can't wait for next year. I have a feeling it's just going to get better and better.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Christmas Eve

Mimi and Presley by the Christmas Tree.

Presley and Daddy

Logan and Presley having fun in their Christmas PJs and having a blast rocking in the chair.

They are so cute together and the best of friends.

The obligatory Christmas Eve pajama picture that Nikki and I have to take every year.

Time to leave the party and go to bed. Santa won't come if little girls aren't asleep.

Daddy and Presley, practicing her new smile...so cute!

A very sleepy little Presley and Mommy.

Cookies for Santa. Sure hope he liked them!

Outside Fun and First Christmas Present

As Christmas was slowly approaching, we found ourselves out of our usual routine just a bit. Everyone was already on holiday vacation...the library, play group, swim class, gymnastics, even Daddy was home on vacation. With all of Presley's daily activities canceled for a few weeks, we had to look for other ways to have fun during the day. One simple pleasure that every kid loves: playing outside.
So on this particular day, Blaine and I brewed a pot of French press coffee, filled up our mugs, bundled Presley up, and headed outside to let Presley run around and play. We turned on the Christmas lights (even though it was only 3 in the afternoon) so she could see the trees all lit up while she played. She spent most of her time picking up acorns and bringing them to us...but had a blast doing it! Just like her Momma, she likes everything to be neat and tidy...even the driveway!

We've started working on teaching Presley how to smile on command. It still needs a little work, but it's really cute to watch her try. It's definitely not the most natural smile, but we love it!

After playing outside for a little while, we thought it would be fun to let her come in and open one Christmas present. We picked the gift from Uncle Larry, Aunt Bethany, Nate, Anna, and Ellie. It was the cutest little Dog, named Violet. When we push the buttons on her paws, she sings different songs. But the coolest part about it was that it came with a little cable that lets you connect to the computer and personalize the songs. We uploaded Presley's name, her favorite animal (a dog), her favorite color (purple...so far it's the only color she can say), and her favorite food (blueberries). Then, Violet sings a song and incorporates all of Presley's favorites into the lyrics. It's so cute and Presley absolutely loves her new BFF!
