Playing in the Rain

One of Blaine and Presley's favorite things to do together is play in the rain.  Pres gets so excited when she hears the rain and 9 times out of 10, she'll talk Blaine into taking her outside to play in it.  I'm usually inside with Beckett, cleaning the kitchen, or occasionally I'll go sit on the porch swing and just watch them play together.  

The other day it started to rain and Pres asked me to go out with her.  I'm not a fan of getting wet and I've never done it before, but for some reason on this particular day, it sounded like fun...so I agreed.

I am so glad I did!  I had a blast out there with her and I don't think I have ever seen her smile quite so big. Even though it was raining really hard and the thunder was unbelievably loud, she could have stayed out there for hours.  I love how such a simple pleasure, like playing in the rain, gave her such tremendous joy.

When I'm old and gray and only have a handful of memories to hold on to, I sure hope this is one of them!

6 Months!

I can't believe our little man Becks is already half way to a year old.  How did the time go by so fast? He is getting bigger everyday and learning so much.  I can't wait to see all the new things he will learn this month!

 Since this was a big milestone birthday for Beckett, we let him try a little cake.  

Not quite a fan of cake yet, but I'm sure that will change soon!

New Hair!

I am super excited to announce that....

Presley's hair is finally long enough to french braid!!! 

 This is a huge accomplishment for us considering she didn't even have hair until she was one.   We have been growing her hair for almost three years now!

 Her hair might be long enough, but getting her to sit still while I braid it is a different story.

  

It may not be the prettiest braid, but gosh darn it...it's braided, and that's good enough for me!

 We also did some work with word families.  She did such a great job identifying the words and putting them in the correct house!

Happy 4th of July

Beckett's Baptism

Our sweet baby boy, Beckett was baptized on Sunday, July 1st.  It was such a special day for our family and we are so thankful to all who celebrated with us and helped make this such a wonderful day.  

We started the morning by giving Presley a special gift to wear at her brother's baptism. She got her very first charm bracelet, from James Avery, with a little cross charm so she would always remember this special day. She was so excited to have a bracelet all her own!

Beckett's baptism started at 2:00pm and he did such a great job during the entire ceremony.

We are so proud of our beautiful son and daughter, who are now both baptized in Christ!

Sprinkler Toy Fun!

 YaYa came up to visit this past weekend and brought Pres a new sprinkler toy! She was so excited.  She asked all day long if she could play with it.  We assured her that after dinner, we would go outside and play.  Wouldn't you know it, after I don't know how many days of 100+ degree weather, we got a little front in that dropped them temp down to the low 80s.  Pair that with the fact that our front yard is completely shaded in the evenings, there was a pretty strong wind, and the water from the hose was super cold.  Poor Pres was freezing, but had a blast playing with YaYa and her new toy!

5 Months!
