Sick Day

As much as we love living in Austin, the one thing we all hate are allergies!  Between the mold and cedar, something is always high and causing one of us problems on a weekly basis.   On this particular week, all four of us were suffering, but Pres really got hit hard.  She had a running nose, sneezing, and just overall didn't feel well.
Her energy level was almost nonexistent (which for her is unheard of) so we opted for skipping gymnastics class and staying home.  It was also cold, dark, and rainy out, so that helped make our decision to stay home a little easier. Since her throat had been bothering her, I decided it was time for her to have her first cup of hot tea with lemon and honey.  This always makes me feel better and I thought it might do the trick for her as well.

She was so excited to use our special Christmas Spode china and loved that the cup was just her size!
It took a lot of convincing to get her to drink it because I kept calling it 'hot tea".  She continually corrected me, saying "No, Momma, I only want warm tea".  When I sufficiently convinced her that the tea was warm and not hot, she finally agreed to take a sip.

She drank a little bit, but quickly got bored.
It's so funny how the act of drinking hot (or warm) tea can be so relaxing and enjoyable to an adult, but to a kid...not so much.  By later that night, she was back to normal and bouncing of the walls as usual!!!
