Presley's First Trip to the Salon

Last Sunday, we took Presley have her first official hair cut. I had trimmed up her hair before when she was little, but since she's a little bit more mobile now (and a lot more wiggly) I wanted a professional to do it this time around. I absolutely love her blond curls and the thought of cutting them off scared me so much. But, I had to agree with Blaine...her hair was growing really uneven and needed to be cleaned up just a bit.
We took her to a place in Round Rock called "Snip-its". It's a salon just for kids and was really cool! Presley had a blast just playing in the waiting area.

Presley's before shot.

She looks so cute in the little salon smock. They gave her a tiny bag of animal crackers to keep her happy and still while they trimmed her hair.

Yikes...the first cut!!!

Such a big girl! I love her little pose for the camera.

All done!

Spring is Here

Rather than recreate the drama we experienced when we tried to have Presley's picture taken with Santa last year (click here for the Santa picture post), we opted for a nice calm spring picture that would not include traumatizing Presley by making her sit on the lap of an 8 foot white rabbit in the middle of the mall.

One of the local children boutiques was having a photo shoot for spring pictures with real live chicks! I wasn't quite sure what Presley would think about that, but I knew it had to be better than the alternative. 5 cute little, yellow, fluffy, sweet baby chicks vs. strange man in a gigantic bunny suit...hmmmm....I think we'll take the baby chicks.

Of course, she surprised me and did so well with the baby chicks. She loved to pet them and even gave them kisses. However, after about 5 minutes the novelty of these cute little creatures wore off and she was ready to get out of there.

Oh well, at least we got a few cute shots of her and the chicks together. This one was my favorite.
Hope everyone has a beautiful spring and a very happy Easter!

ABC Wall

We just finished the newest addition to Presley's play room. It's an alphabet wall that I saw on another blog. I loved it so much that I decided to recreate it for Presley. It took way longer than I thought it would, but I really love the way it turned out. If I never see another can of spray paint, it will be too soon!

New Sports

On top of swimming every Thursday, Presley has also started playing soccer on Saturday mornings, and going to gymnastics class on Tuesday mornings.

She really loves both of her new activities, but I think she likes soccer practice a little bit more.

At soccer practice, we spend a lot of time just learning to run/walk the correct way down the field. We play red light, green light for a while at each practice. Presley loves it...especially green light!

Going around the cones with Daddy.

Helping her coach put the cones back up were they belong.

"Ta-da!!!"
I just love her little sparkly leotard!

A Lovely Valentine's Day!

We had such a great Valentine's Day this year. Actually, it was the day before Valentine's Day. Blaine had to leave for a business trip on the 14th, so we celebrated on February 13th instead.
We packed a picnic lunch with heart shaped PB&J sandwiches, blueberries, pretzels, chocolate covered strawberries, and we headed to the park!

Sweet little heart shaped sandwiches.

After we ate, we ran...

and played on the slide...

...and played with the ball!

It was such a beautiful day and the perfect way to celebrate Valentine's Day with my amazing family!!!

The next morning, Blaine had to wake up early to catch his flight to California. I still wanted to do something special for Pres, so I made her a Valentine's Day breakfast that I knew she would love!

Heart shaped cinnamon & sugar French toast with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries.

Yummy!

Trying to eat and smile at the same time.

This is seriously her plate when she was finished eating. She ate all but these last few bites. My sweet little girl woke up with a big girl Valentine's Day appetite.

Picture Perfect

A couple of weekends ago, we went to a birthday party for one of Presley's playgroup friends, Hunter. While we were having fun at the party, one of our playgroup moms/photographer snapped a few pics of Presley and sent them to us. When I saw the picture above, my jaw just about dropped to the floor. I know every mom thinks their child is cute, but this picture of Presley is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!

The most amazing part about these pictures are that none of them were posed. The party was at "The Little Gym" so we were doing tons of fun things with the kids, in a gym setting. Each of the pictures she took were just in passing as were walking around enjoying all the activities of the party.

The Very Last Bottle

At our last well check, Dr. Chang suggested that we might want to stop giving Presley a bottle at night before bed. He wanted to see her without a bottle by 18 months, but for sure by 2 years.
So, we slowly started to give her less and less until we felt like she was ready to stop having it completely.

It was so hard to decide which night would be her last without a bottle. It's just another thing that make her not a little baby anymore. It's bittersweet, but until I find that time machine that will let me keep her a little baby forever, I have to go along with it.

We thought that since Daddy gave Presley her very first bottle ever, it was only fitting that he be the one to give her the last one (snif, snif....is anyone else crying yet???)

This is one of my most favorite pictures ever! I can't believe that was 18 months ago.
She's such a precious little angel.

Okay, here it is...the last bottle!
(On a side note, check out the cute leopard print socks...love it!!!)
